Keith Is a specialist educational psychologist employed on a consultancy basis to give advice, training and support to Goldcrest House. He has an honours degree in psychology, a post-graduate certificate in education and a master’s degree in educational
psychology. He is a chartered psychologist and member of the British Psychological Society and of the Association of Educational Psychologists.
Prior to working as a psychologist he spent four years as a probation officer and eight years working at a Department of Health specialist treatment centre supporting extremely disturbed and damaged children and adolescents, firstly as a teacher and group worker and finally as Head of Education. After completing his training as an educational psychologist, he worked for eight years as a main grade psychologist with the education department of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council.
He then spent seven years working in more specialist roles, firstly with Barnardo’s supporting children with severe and complex learning difficulties and for four years specialising in working with children and young people with autism; for three years at a
school run by the National Autistic Society and then with a specialist team in the west of Ireland.
He has been a visiting tutor on the University of Birmingham’s web based autism course. He has been working as an independent consultant, providing services to a variety of organisations, including NAS services and services in Ireland, since 2002.
